WINNER'S STANCE
Long before the night comes, the darkness creeps in
Or at least it tries to
Calling me into its presence
Haunting
Taunting as if we are one, and I am its own
Feeling so welcomed in my space
When I never invited it in
My perimeter is Light and Blood Cord
Firewall and Glory Cloud
Iron Fists and SABAOTH
Yet still, it comes
Trying to get in with such ease and lure
With pizzazz, and suave approach
The smoothness of its black tentacles
Extending to grab and squeeze
Then crush
Little does it know
That I am quite aware
Awakened to its games and smooth play
Not down at all
But attentive to what’s going on
To what it really wants
Little does it know
That I am utterly sure
Positive of who I’m loyal to
And where my allegiance stands
Balanced on beams of Light
And Hope and Truth
And Life and Security
That does not come from knowing it
But leaning on the opposite
The ONE! The WAY! The TRUTH! The LIFE!
The STANDARD that blocks it from getting in
And keeps it out and well at bay
Carefully guarding my soul
Allowing only the approach, but never the entry
Enough for me to hear and see
To reject and flee
Enough for it to play and lose
Turned down to turn up
Every time
What I strive for every time
Is to take the win and prepare for the next
And on and on and on it goes
This darkness
Unrelenting! Intensifying!
Determined to clutch; to bind; to break
To make me stumble and fall
Until that day
At the finality of it all
When all games cease, and every play is made
All cards drawn and turned; faces up
It is there, darkness will feel the sting of death
A hand it has dealt for many
A hand it too cannot escape
And so it knows
It knows its fate
The Fate of the Trump Card
At the Sound of The Call
When the last Hand is played
For the Big Win that sets time out of motion
And a new day is dawn
‘Til then
I will carry on
And play this game and win
Not by might, nor by power
But by RUACH HAKODESH
The Perfecter of my soul
The Balancer of my beams
Never Tilting! Never Falling!
Always Winning!
